Modern problems like the COVID-19 pandemic call for modern solutions, and the Ristech Steri-Book SB 601 stepped up to the challenge. We’re proud to announce that we’ve received a Platinum 2021 Modern Library Award for our technology that sanitizes multiple library books at a time and ensures safe, ongoing availability of library media. Check out the press release here.

The Ristech Steri-Book 601 SB Public uses 10 hospital-grade UV-C lamps to deliver 360-degree exposure. Up to six books can be placed inside the machine at a time to streamline the process of sanitizing books. With the push of a button, librarians can ensure a safer reading experience in just one minute.
We are honoured to receive this award and take our commitment to library patrons very seriously. Through our technology, we’re helping libraries to stay open and continue serving the public with books and other media.
About the Modern Library Awards
The Modern Library Awards are an annual, unbiased program that recognizes elite products and services for libraries. For consideration, companies like Ristech furnish concise write-ups of their products or services for review by the LibraryWorks readership. These readers submit review scores on a scale of 1 to 10 on the products or services they’ve experienced first-hand. In addition, participating companies must also provide three references for library placements to complete their entry.
The Award Selection Process
For consideration of a Modern Library Award, more than 80,000 librarians in public, academic, K-12, and specialty libraries were asked to review entrants on a scale of 1 to 10 based on a number of questions. These included:
- Quality of the product
- Functionality of the product
- Rating compared to similar products
- Quality of the service delivered by Ristech
- Overall satisfaction with Ristech
Participants delivered additional feedback regarding Ristech and the Steri-Book 601 SB Public.
Statements like: “This product works great and the company is awesome to work with!”, helped to cement a win for the company, with an overall score of 9.15 out of 10.
“Absolutely wonderful…every library needs one…should have had years ago”
